Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition Screen Resolutions Revealed For Consoles
|The resolution for Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) on the various consoles has been revealed.
If you don’t know what s ‘screen resolution’ is or why it matters, it’s probably something you don’t have to worry about. So you can feel free to ignore this article 🙂
For those that do or are curious, here are the official resolutions for the editions of Disney Infinity 2.0 on consoles
WiiU: 1138×600
Xbox 360 / Playstation 3: 1280×672
Xbox One / Playstation 4: 1,920×1,080
So as expected, both the ‘next-gen’ consoles (I’ll start calling them current gen in November) are full 1080p.
The Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are just under 720p, but almost shocking to me is the Wii U’s resolution.
If I were to guess, I would assume it must be how Disney Infinity is using the Wii U GamePad, thus requiring more resources. To keep other aspects of the game engine more level, they may have chosen to just lower the resolution (albeit a hair) smaller than the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
Here is an image from wikipedia which gives you a rough idea of how resolutions affect images (the Wii edition was at 480p last year). Click the image for the full size to get a better effect.
I am excited to see the Disney Infinity in beautiful 1080p on my television next week. I should be getting it on each platform, so I’ll have to see how much I can really tell in respects to this game.
