REPORT: Disney Infinity 3.0 ‘Wave 2’ On September 20 (R.A.T.E. & Timed Exclusives)

Alright, another hot rumor/report to share with you this evening.

The next ‘wave’ of Disney Infinity 3.0 figures may launch on September 20th, 2015.

If that date sounds familiar, that’s the same date as the Skylanders SuperChargers release. This wouldn’t be the first time that new Disney Infinity figures came out on the day that Skylanders released (a batch of Crystal figures released on Swap Force release day).

The information is far from confirmed, but as you know, I like to bring you as much information as possible and you can choose to believe or not what you wish.

Best Buy internally has the date set for September 20th for the following figures: The five other timed exclusives (Fear, Ezra, Kanan, Zeb, and Sabine) and Han Solo. Notably Chewbacca was not listed, nor was the Rise Against The Empire Play Set. Though both of those could have not been updated yet.

I have a gut feeling that Darth Vader and Darth Maul are both going to be held for a ‘villain’ wave like in 2.0.

Again this information is not confirmed. But it would sound about right. But does seem like a ‘jerk’ move to release it on the same day as your competitor. But we shall see!

Retailers appeared to have started getting word that the release date for Disney Infinity 3.0 launch is on August 30th, so wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that they are receiving the date for the second wave as well.

We previously heard a release date of September 29th for the Rise Against The Empire play set, but John Vignocchi has stated that that date is incorrect.

So we shall see. This could be a tentative date and could change just like the 3.0 date was changed as well.

As stated with the release date I originally shared before, do not worry about the 2018 year! It is just some kind of internal thing that Best Buy does. But the Mighty No. 9 and the Skylanders Starter Pack dates are correct. Just for whatever reason, best buy internally puts the date at 2018.
