Official: Yondu & Falcon announced for Disney Infinity 2.0, The Final Marvel Figures

After last night’s leak, Disney Infinity made it official today… Yondu and Falcon figures are coming to Disney Infinity 2.0. That wraps up the cast of Marvel for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition).

Disney made the announcement first via an exclusive feature with Variety. Be sure to head over there to read it!

Remember, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) has actually been in development for two years. So to answer the question ‘why is Yondu a figure and a team up disc?’, it seems like Avalanche originally planned to make Yondu a team-up. But as the article states, the decision to add Yondu may have happened late in the process.

Because of early popularity of the “Guardians” characters, Disney also has revealed that mercenary Yondu, played by Michael Rooker in the film, will now also get a physical figure that will be added to the game, rather than just appear in playable missions.

Here is the official press release, be sure to read on for some more information about some extras hints (and maybe more than 40 power discs for Marvel?)

With less than two weeks left until the launch of Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, Disney Interactive today is offering a first look at two more additions to the Marvel Super Heroes line-up. Joining the already assembled team will be Yondu, from Marvel’s box office hit “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Captain America’s loyal ally, Falcon

Yondu: From deepest space comes Yondu, leader of the outlaw band known as the Ravagers.  Whether he’s trying to outwit the Guardians of the Galaxy or face off against a squadron of Sakaarans, Yondu will do anything to come out on top. With his whistle-powered flying arrow and devastating combat skills, Yondu is truly a force to be reckoned with. He will be playable in both the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set and Toy Box 2.0. Yondu will also be making an appearance in the Marvel Team-Up: Yondu Power Disc. When players place the Power Disc on the Disney Infinity base, they can fight alongside the powerful, arrow-shooting ally, and send enemies running for their lives.

Falcon: Pararescue veteran Sam Wilson, codename Falcon, soars into Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes. As Captain America’s closest ally, Falcon’s an indispensible addition to the Marvel’s Avengers Play Set and Toy Box 2.0. With his EXO-7 wing pack and Hardlight Feathers, evil doesn’t stand a chance against his aerial assaults. Other characters can also fly like Falcon when players use the Falcon’s Wings Power Disc.

First off, let this be know. This is all the Marvel figures for 2.0. There will be no more.

Secondly, yes… Yondu can team up with himself, which is actually pretty awesome!

Finally, Falcon is getting a Winter Soldier Costume ‘power disc’. Not sure if ‘power disc’ was a mistake, or maybe (like the Disney Originals side) there are more than 40 power discs as we have been lead to believe? Disney Originals has at least 42… so maybe Marvel will have more as well!
